Houston Cake Smash Photography | SHIVIE SMASHES ONE!

Let me introduce you to the sweetest family I’ve had the pleasure to meet.  Jiya called me with exciting plans for her son Shivay’s birthday cake smash.  Part of their extended family would be coming to Houston from India for the big day so mom wanted the first birthday photo session to be extra special. 

Jiya had a Mickey Mouse theme in mind for “Shivie” (as they like to call him) & wanted photos both in studio & outdoors.  We started the day with some amazing shots of the parents, grandparents & baby in a wooded park nearby.  As Shivie was super cooperative we were able to execute numerous style changes while we were there.  My fave is the one of Jiya & Shivie in the garland swing—so beautiful with the red flowers & their dark navy colors!  This little guy loved wearing hats & was easily persuaded to do so! 

After our park time we headed to the studio for the cake smash session.  The red, yellow & navy theme was the perfect choice to complement Mickey & Shivie.  And he had no problem smashing the cake either! These sessions are called baby smash cake for a reason.

We ended the celebration with a soothing bubble bath with his favorite bath time toys.  I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed working with these lovely people & I hope to watch Shivie grow in the years to come.
